1. UMPortal User News #5 - upgrade notice
|
Announcing a major upgrade to your UMPortal’s Headlines!
Next time you log into the admin panel of your UMPortal, you’ll notice something different. “Headlines” is gone, with “Articles” taking its place.

To use this enhanced feature, click on “Articles,” then choose “Articles” again from the options you’re given. (Ignore the “Categories” link – your entries all fall under Headlines. You may enter “Authors” if you wish, but it’s not required.)
You’ll see a space that looks much like where you have entered Headlines in the past. But below it, you’ll find something new: a “Long Text” block.

Some big advantages of our new Article module: - You no longer have to build a separate page for including more information. The Portal does it for you with the information you put into the Long Text block. - You don’t have to build a link from the headline block, either – it’s automatically linked to the full text, both from the headline’s title and from the “read more” link. - While you still need one graphic measuring 90 x 115 pixels for the Headline rotation, you can now add images of all shapes and sizes into the Long Text block. - The Long Text block will hold up to 20,000 characters.
As always, contact Amy if you have questions about using this or any other feature of your UMPortal.
Building an Image Gallery, Part 6
More pre-sized 90 x 115-pixel images to help you supply Headline visuals for your congregation's announcements, activities and ministries:

Right-click on each image to save to your computer. Or, if you're having trouble viewing them and need them emailed, please contact Amy.
